Using Word as email editor with outlook

by seadogs . Updated 25 years, 3 months ago

I am trying to get everyone in my office standardized to use Word 2000 as their email editor with Outlook 2000, so that when they open their email, it opens word automatically. This is a straightforward switch, but on some computers (NT 4.0 sp6a, windows 98 se, and windows 2000 professional) there is some kind of locking up going on. When you first startup, you can open outlook and generally open 1 email through word. After this, outlook starts locking up as well as word. I checked under the task manager and for processes there are often more than one instance of word running. Is there any fix for this problem or anyway around it? We’d like to keep word as the default editor so that preformated emails display properly on everyone’s screen. Thanks very much!
