Validating data in Drop Down Boxes with links

I have a spreadsheat with a lot of data (540 rows & 6 columns.
This set of data is for one specific operation. if I choose another operation I need to change data for about 100 cells.

Is there a way to link dropdown boxes to insert changes automatically if I choose one of the six sets of operations
Example, I manage six Oil drilling rigs and each have different rates, prices and costs. if I make a list of the different rates headed by rig name, can excel insert the rest of the list to replace the exixting data and clculate the work sheet automatically.

it is all about linking & validating cells I guess.
