VB6

I am trying to install VB6 on a Windows NT4.0
machine without success. The installation gets to 100% mark , tries to register dlls. The final error message that comes up is: "....cannot register msaddndr.dll. Installation was not successful"
I will appreciate an urgent solution to this problem. Please write to me at EDEM@DEMSEN.COM
Thank you.

I have installed it several times in Windows 4.0 and have never gotten this error. The only thing I can think of, is that perhaps there are system policies or user policies preventing you from registering components.

Hope this helps

Which service pack of VB6 are you installing? MS just posted SP5 for Visual Studio 6, which it highly recommends for Visual Basic. You might try downloading that and trying to install it.

Hi!

Check the Servicepack on NT 4.0. If its below 3 then install at least SP3, pref 5 or 6 a.

Check that all other programs are closed including viruscheckers. Close them with CTRL+ALT+DEL if there are no other way.

Check if the file already exists. If so try to rename it. If you can't then someprocess in NT is using it. Try closing services until you find it.

Check your registrysize(Controlpanel/system/virtualmemory or something). Increase it if possible.

If this doesn?t work try reparing your NT installation(not recommended).

After install of VB install last SP.

Oh, if its a copy(backup of course:-) ) try use the original or another copy.
