VB6 Data Report calling SQL stored procedure

By rcox ·
I have a VB6 data report with a data environment (DE) where the DE command properties list a stored procedure that exists and works fine. The stored proc has 2 parameters which are defined in the DE. I invoke the report by clicking a name in a combo box. The code that is invokled specifies the stored procedure parameters and this works fine with different parameters as set in the application.

The report runs correctly the first time. The problem is when I run the report a second time, VB gives an error message "could not find stored procedure 'report name'" where 'report name' is not the name of the stored procedure.

The DE connection and the DE command recordset are closed after the report is closed and reopened when the report is called again.

I realize that VB6 is not everybody's favorite at this point, but does anybody know what might be going on here?
