VBSCRIPT creation of server print queues

By Curious_George ·
There is tons of info out there on managing and configuring windows server print queues, but I can't find ANY info on CREATING PRINT QUEUES, locally or more importantly, REMOTELY using VBSCRIPT or ADSI or any or scripting for that matter.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Take a look at this:

http://www.textcontrol.com/tx/downloads/code/snippet/id/22/

(REMOVE SPACES from the pasted URL.)

Scroll down to part two of that tutorial. It states, "We are going to set up a print queue..."
You may have to extract parts and pieces from this and possible other examples, but perhaps it will be enough to get you going.

The index of their tutorials, by the way, can be found at this link (if you're interested):

There is a dll you can register in the 2000 resource kit that will allow you to install printer form a command windor or via a script.

It is called prnadmin.dll

Hope this helps

Wow, I forgot about this question. Funny that 7 months after I post the Question MS publishes a Q article about it.

Q263226 How to Add a Default Printer Using a Visual Basic Script

I'll give ya the points just the same, you did find an answer that fully addressed my question, unlike so many people that give answers that have little to do with the question asked.

Additionally, the dll file should function from a web server, so that I can create print queues on enterprise print servers through a web GUI, that way all data fields will be generated in a control format and look.

Thanks for the help.
