Veritas backup

By mickd ·
I am using the Veritas backup supplied as standard with Windows XP Pro SP2 backing up to DAT72 tape.

When viewing the backup through the restore wizard one of the folders is showing with an exclamation mark over it. It looks like all the data is present in the folder but I am concerned that it may not be so.

Can anyone help please?

Do you have a step by step guide or tutorial for using veritas backups?

I believe the icon you are seeing means that the folder is missing from the backup. Can you view the backup log to see if any files or folders were missed or if there was an exceptions report generated? Also, check out http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/301088.htm for an explanation of the different icons used in Veritas backup software.

Let me know if that is helpful or you have further questions. Thanks.

And now i see that this is 9 months old. Never mind.
