I currently use veritas backup exec to backup my data servers to disk. I use TSM to manage my tape library. In TSM, I have various jobs setup to control the data. One job to copy the data on the disks to tape (which is stored in the library untilit expires). Second, I have the tape pool copied to another set of tapes that are sent offsite. My question is, because on how TSM sees the media from Backup Exec (in clumps of data), how can I tell which offsite tape represents the tape I have inthe library (in case the copy in the library gets corrupted)? Any help would be fully appreciated.

In addition to what you are doing, you could send the data clumps to an archive storage pool and use the administrator console to delete from archives once the tape in the library has expired. I assume that once it has expired, then you don't need it anymore. Having dedicated removable storage for the archive pools might not be a bad idea, either.
