    veritas vs brightstor Backup

    Hi,
I’m looking for opinions on veritas vs brightstor Backup solutions. I’m currently using computer associates brightstor trail version. I seem to be having an issue getting the Disaster recovery option to work, which I believe I will resolve, otherwise the product appears to be okay. I’m also implementing a backup through Brightstor to disk. Is veritas capable to do this and is it worth going through the install to run the trail version? Just looking for users opinions who have had expeirence with both products. Any help would be appreciated..

I have used both in the past. Currently using Veritas. Veritas does offer several to disk options including dssu. I have found that both are very capable backup utilities. It is just a matter of preference as to which you use. I would take the time to try a trial of Veritas too. It may be worth your time, just for due diligence.

Currently using Veritas Backup Exec v10.x,
In the past I have used versions 7x, 8x, 9x of this product as well, I haven’t tried Brightstor but can say that Veritas hasn’t given me any problems since I started using it back in 99 – haven’t looked back since.
