I have been try ing to install DSL on WinXP. The modem provided by Verizon connect via USB but not Ethernet. Replaced NIC and still not connecting, IP config shows 0.0.0.0 when checked and XP will freeze soon after. Should new NIC show Ip as 169.x.x.x? Not sure what else to check.
