I have to admit to being a novice with Linux.
However, we have a development company who wish to provide a service from a Linux box located in our datacentre. They will access this server remotely.
We have had a number of issues with problemswith this project. Firstly their application will not work on Red Hat version 7.0. We hadn’t been told this by hte developer and so at the last stage of our testing (the first part of theirs) they told us of this most important information.
OK. We built them another box this time we had Red Hat 6.1 installed. Their application is so specific that they require Red Hat 6.2. After being in work for hours, i am now feeling dejected at the prospect of another failure today. i am sure that the distribution can be patched by an update from 6.1 to 6.2 (the reason for the decision we took yesterday).
Can someone please confirm or deny this statement, and if so how can we carry out this update.
Please help before the “whiney” developer fromthis company calls me again. There is a pile of grey hair on the floor under my desk.
Please HELP!
