Vertical-horizontal rules in Word 2003?

By floripaplayer ·
Everytime I open Microsoft Word 2003 I always see those really annoying vertical and horizontal rules - Is there a way (not those common steps)to really get rid of them?

Click View → Ruler so it is un-checked. Pretty easy, yes?

Thanks for pointing. I totally missed that one.

By the way, I one really wants a more weird way to the same, then VBA should do.

At least in Office 2003 you sure can design your own toolbar button to turn off (or toggle) rulers, or create and add-in that will toggle them on or off at startup depending on odd or even date...

Or, show the rulers if the current document name contains an "r". That would be funny
