Very sagging windows and word8

Recently I had to upgrade 3 Dell 133 pentium maskines from win95 to win98. Mostly because of the USB rutines. After that, the maskines are very slow, some(quite big, c:a 400k) Word8 files wont even start, they hang the maskine completely. The maskines have 96 Mb ram, so that`s not the problem, and the program doesnt swap to the disk.
Sholdn`t 133 pentium maskines upgrade to win98? Or is there another answer to the sagging?

I don't think the 133 chip is the problem but maybe you HD is. How much space is left on it ? Check your temp files.

Good luck

Check for items in the startup, Programs such as Corel WordPerfect start several items that hog resources. Also, if you do not use Fast Find, use the System Configuration Utility (found in the System Information Tool) to disable it from your start-up. Throughout this process you must remember that 133's were not designed to multi-task such up to date programs. I am running on a 100 and have a few of those same problems running Windows 98. Word 2000 however runs better than 97.

there are several possiblites check your resources to see how much if free. Try to get it around 90% or better free. remove what you have loading up on startup as generally most things are not needed. easy way to do this is go to the run propmpt and type msconfig use the last tab "startup" to select and deselect what you want on bootup. if this dosn't work reinstall the upgrade from DOS.
