I just replaced a machine in a small office network and it is extremly slow opening/saving documents on the file server. The new pc is a Dell P4 2.4ghz running Win XP and is lightning fast when opening local files. The file server is running win2k server and the other pc’s in the office are running win2k. Opening files on the server from the other pc’s is quick.
I have tried manually setting my nic to 100mbps full duplex as well as plugging into a different port on the router to no avail.
