I have a friend who wants to transfer his home movies from VHS to DVD and edit and create a movie for his parents 50th wedding annaversory. What kind of hardware do we need to install in his machine. He is using a Dell demension with 1.8 GHz cpu, 256 MB of ram and 60 gig HD with 50 gigs free. Windows xp pro. I suggested he slave a 80 gig HD to use just for movie. Add at least another 256 MB of ram for a total of 512 or go as high as a gig. DVD burner and get an ATI-all-in-wonder video card with 128 DDR. I am not sure what features are needed on the video card to transfer video from VCR to computer, (TV in, TV out?) Any suggestions would be helpfull. Thanks.
