Which chipset is better, I’ve hered that the
ali chipsets aren’t that good compared to
    the via.
I need a scalible motherboard that is
    soild.
    considering the Asus TUA266.
All I need is tualtian, AGP pro/4x, and
    DDR-SDRAM support.
    Any suggestions/comments?

For a utility PC, you are not going to notice the difference.
Yes the speed goes AMD, VIA, then Ali. So does cost. The differences are of concern only to the hard core, bleeding edge types.
Also remember that the Video Card and RAM are so important, that small chipset differences are masked.
Stated another way: The Video Card and the RAM are the choke points in a PC.
Plenty of DDR RAM and a good Video Card make a fast PC, virtually regardless of the chipset.
