Video Card Problems

By andycook ·
I'm having problems with getting my AGP card to work in my AGP Pro slot, I get no video signal at all. I tested it in another computer with a standard AGP and it's fine. Any suggestions?

Troubleshoot the motherboard by making sure that you donot have onboard graphics enabled, open the CMOS control panel and disable onboard graphics other than that you may want to make sure that connectors are not causing a problem and the motherboardslot is working properly

In addition to what Soulrider suggested, I want to share what my situation was with an AGP ATI card. I have an HP 8495 system and I bought an ATI Radeon 64mb AGP card slipped it in and nothing just like your problem. So, I checked every where and done everything (contacted the ATI people and checked the motherboard site for a bios update, and checked HP's site) It boiled down to that my system was not compatabile with the 2X (or above)AGP video cards. On the HP site there is a support site where people can share there problems and there were many that were having the same problem as I was and there was no solution except go and get you and PCI card. That is what I did and it works great. This was about a year ago, so maybe there is a fix for this by now?
