Video Card Question

By andycook ·
I recently bought a Asus motherboard for an AMD Athlon system and the video card slot is not what I know as a standard AGP slot. It's larger and doesn't work with the card I have. It says on the specs of the motherboard that it's an AGP Pro. Is that something different? Any answers?

Video Card Question

AGP Pro slots are backward compatible with regular AGP cards. AGP Pro is simply an extension of the AGP slot, so your card will work with this slot.

The extensions are on both ends of the "original" slot, what you do is insert your AGP card between the two extensions.

If I remember right, this board requires a 4x AGP video card. Check and make sure that your video card is a 4X version, the board will not work with a 2X AGP.
