A windows 2003 server that has been demoted from pdc, has video issues on restart. prior to the demotion, the server has many problems with services, so was repaired using the Windows server installation Cd. The services mainly restarted. The server was scanned for viruses – non -detected & then demoted. Since the demotion, the video display shows mainly black on black – a few icons are visible & sometimes the writing beside an icon is visible.
I have tried repairing the installation again but the problem continues. I have tried working through a reinstallation of the driver by using the keyboard keys after ascertaining the keys requried from another server but this does not seem to work.
I have tried VGA mode – some problem
Is there anything else I can try other than installing a new video card??
