Video problems

By ircrise ·
I just recently added an EVGA 256-P2-N761-AR GeForce 8600 GTS 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported video card to my system. I cleaned everything out, took apart all the wires and blew the whole thing down. Reattached everything and started up the pc. It just sits at the windows loading screen. I let it sit for hours and it just sits. System specs are:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Windsor 3.2GHz Socket AM2 125W Dual-Core Processor
GIGABYTE GA-M61P-S3 AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 / nForce 430 ATX AMD Motherboard
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
Rosewill RP500-2 500W ATX12V v2.01 Power Supply
Generic DVD-R drive
5x80mm fans
and some network adapters is all I have in the PCI slots. It boots just fine in safe mode, reinstalled windows, installed latest drivers, checked my bios to make sure onboard would cut out with peg active. Still can't get it to work. Any ideas?
