video problems when playing a game

I recently purchased SWAT3. I got it while at lunch and went back to the office and couldnt resist so I installed on my computer at work (shhhh!!) i was hooked, so on the train, i installed on my laptop. Everything was going great and was all settled in completely dedicate my whole night to playing this on my desktop at home, after i installed it was about to start a mission a message box poped up saying “can not start 3d movie mode” i hit ok and i’m sent back to my desktop. Also, I noticed that all my sounds are very very fast. I have tried over and over to try to fix this and dont have anywhere else to turn. I have a compaq deskpro running windows 2000. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You
