    Video/profile problems in NT 4

I just upgraded a user to a new PIII machine running Windows NT 4 SP5. His profile was also converted from a local profile on his old PC to a roaming user profile. Now when he logs on to either his old PC or his new PC he experiences screen flashes.Every time the user right-clicks on the desktop or opens a program (among other things), his screen flashes at least once. However, if anyone else logs on to the PC (roaming user profile or not), it behaves itself. What could be causing this problem?

Part of the profile is the indvidual screen settings. That is merged into the profile upon logoff. I would try to change his display settings, logoff (hence saving them to his new profile), and logging back on.

Since it only “acts” up for him, sounds like it is his profile.

I do not know what he has for environment variables, and all the other stuff, but you could rename the current roaming profile, create a new one, and then copy the “older” folders back into the new profile to preserve it as much as possible.
