You need to adjust your display settings. Your resolution is not set to the optimal or native resolution. Most laptops are designed for a resolution of 1024 x 768.

If you go into your dispaly settings off of the control panel and click the settings tab, move the screenarea slider to the resolution you want. You may need to try a few different ones. If you cannot move the slider higher than what it is at now, there is usually an easy fix. Click the advanced button off of the settings taband click the monitor tab and select a different monitor, it is probably on plug and play. Ideally you want to install the correct driver for your laptop. You should be able to download them from:
http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_modItemList.jsp?ProductMenu_0=Portables&ProductMenu_1=Tecra&ProductMenu_2=1073769805&BV_SessionID=@@@@1140132987.1031749798@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccdcadcgekegmldcgfkceghdgngdglk.0&moid=1073769805&smoid=true&ct=DL&ListType=Model&x=18&y=10

If this is not possible, or you don't know what you have, click the change button and select Laptop screen (1024x 76 from the standard types. To get to that option you must select display a list and then show all hardware in the wizrd that appears. Once that isselected you should be able to adjust the screen size now. You will probably need to restart your computer afterwards.

Hope this helps
Jason

I have had this on various laptops (dell, compaq, gateway, ibm). All of them required either 800x600 or 1024x768 minimum screen resolution to utilize the entire laptop screen. Simply change the screen display setting and see if the problem resolves itself (either through control panel or right-click screen and choose properties->settings and change the screen area setting).

Enjoy,
