Viewing the SAM database

By wsmoth ·
I have had a request to print off a list of users who have rights to a machine on my network. I want to print them off a list from the SAM. Does any one know how to view, save and print the SAM as a text file?

You can use the utility DUMPSEC. This utility can be found at http://www.somarsoft.com/cgi-bin/download.pl?DumpAcl.

It will provide you with several options to retrieve and store information contained in the SAM.

Hope this helps.

What you're looking for is a password auditing software:

I would suggest using Hyena. This is a strong tool for NT administration. Many features including reporting directly from the SAM.
