How can I increase the virtual memory in Windows XP?

Right click my computer, goto properties... advanced tab - performance...

If you are running out of resources, and you are allowing Windows to control Virtual Memory, you need more free hard drive space.

Clear out as many temp files as you can, then run Disk Cleanup from the Accessories / System Tools menu.

The best advise is to make the paging file a static size - usually 3 x the physical memory installed.

This will also reduce the fragmentation of the HD.
