You probably have spyware running on your system. It might not have installed immediatly after you installed DSL, but probably shortly afterwards. Check out http://www.castlecops.com or http://safer-networking.org

Rebooting may make the message go away, but will only reset the spyware. It will restart after reboot.

Get a NAT router between your DSL modem and your computer.

Update your OS to the latest Patches, and use Firefox for a web browser in the future.

OR...

You could have a poorly written driver for the USB DSL. It might be gobbling up memory. Reboot would fix this temporarily too. This is uncommon since WinXP was introduced.

Be sure to scan from Safe Mode for Spyware and Viruses (with these fully updated). Delete anything found and rescan to make sure no problems are detected on the second scans.

play nicely please. you could have mentioned your fortress like security in your initial post. and you already tried Safe mode, yes? and no problems there, right? you just forgot to mention it maybe?sounds like you've got gobs of services running and it is one of them causing maybe. so you will have to guess which one. what new services came in with that dsl? if you don't know by looking at Services maybe get more familiar with the services that normally run. use HiJack This to have a look
perhaps a recent windows update is not playing nicely with one or more of the services...maybe you need a ROMpak update for hi speed usb bug fixes? did you also not mention you tried the ethernet LAN port to talk to dsl router?

Right click on My Computer and go to properties. Go to the Advanced tab. Click on Settings under Performance. Click on the Advanced tab. Under Virtual Memory is a Change button. Click that. Try setting your initial size to 768 and your maximum size to 1536. Make sure you click the Set button before you click OK or changes won't be made. Reboot your machine and try that for a day or two to see if the error goes away. If it comes back, go back to that setting and change it to No Paging File and reboot. Let me know if this doesn't fix it because that would mean you have memory leaks and you need to find what program is eventually using it all up.
