I’m tring to change the virt mem on Win98. Going to Computer->Properties->Performance->Virtual Memory, changing the drive, windows will ask me to confirm, say ok, but checking, the default settings are still selected.
I’ve changed the settings in system.ini, to drive g: and 128 Mb min. I made system.ini read only.
In Performance, the windows resources are 77% free, running all startup programs and seti@home.(seems high)
If I change the drive to g: through this menu, it doen’t ask to reboot, suggesting to me the changes have already been made through changes to system.ini, onlt the display in virt mem settings is incorrect (says default)
Any ideas on how to have the Computer->Properties->Performance->Virtual Memory display that virt mem is on g drv?
Specs:
ide0 c: 80 Mb free
ide1 d: 800 free
e: 800 free
f: 800 free
g: 1.1 GB free
2×128 MB RAM 133 MHz
(which replaced 64 MB – hence need to change virt mem)
Thanks in advance.
