Urgent help requested — VISTA and ,NET problems.
I am having trouble getting applications to run on Vista Business that run fine on XP Pro. Vista comes up with one successive error after another. I support a group of Insurance Agents that like to buy the latest and greatest, then come to me to get the company applications working. Second/Third level support was called in and they are stumped.
“The error is Process ID, Thread ID, and the fixes we’ve done that work on Vista Enterprise and Ultimate, don’t work on Vista Basic or Business. We believe it’s a problem with the versions of .NET Framework installed, but that’s about as far as we’ve gotten. The (other) errors start with Object reference not set to an instance of an object, then The memory can’t be read, then an msi.exe error Source 11788.”
Going down another track gives us:
“Type initializer for System.Sql.Client.Sql threw an exception. Clicked OK then got Type initializer System.Data.SqlConnection
threw an exception. Neither of these errors come up on a Google search. These agents have the Home Basic version of Vista. On all of the .NET errors, 1.1.4322 is already installed.”
These Agents just want to use their laptops and conduct business for their customers.
Is this a headache for anyone else?
Thank you for any help.
