vista biz 32--copy user profile from admin to standard account

By jaypea5000 ·
I've installed vista business 32-bit. I set everything up using an admin account. I'd like to move the profile (desktop background, icon setup, sidebar/gadgets, icon fonts, etc) to a standard user profile.

I've tried >system control panel >system section >advanced system settings >user profile >settings - but the "Copy To" button is grayed out and won't work.

any ideas??

thanks for the assistance...

Why not create another Administrative Account and logon with the new Account and demote the first Account to a standard user.

You cannot copy the active logged on account.

Also you cannot log off and log on to a second account, and copy the first account profile without rebooting. WIndows keeps the first accounts user registry locked until the reboot.

Create an admin account that is NOT administrator.
Customize the profile. Desktop, Quick Launch, power settings, etc...
Shut down or restart the computer.
Log on as administrator.
You should now be able to copy the second profile to the default profile.
