I just bought an UNO midi-to-usb cable from M-AUDIO. The plan is to record piano music in Finale NotePad2008 on my Vista PC. This cable works fine on an XP PC but the driver fails to load on my Vista PC. I have scoured the web for an answer and have come up empty-handed.
I have seen and tried a few hotfixes from Microsoft to no avail. M-AUDIO even supplied a driver but it would not work. They insist it should simply plug-n-play…!
Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated…

VIEWCON is displayed in Device Manager with a yellow triangle with an exclamation point “!” on it.
