Vista compatible PCI to SATA controller

By ironman556_2003 ·
Hi I currently have an ASRock Dual-VSTA motherboard with 2 SATA ports, 1 with an 80GB HDD (Windows XP boot) and 1 with a 200GB HDD (Storage).

I want to Dual boot XP and Vista, putting Vista onto my 200GB HDD and buying a new 500GB storage drive which I want to put on a PCI - SATA card. It doesn't have to be SATA2 but must work in both XP and Vista. There are plenty of cards around ?35 or less, but none say they're supported by Vista.

Is anyone using one of these cards with Vista? Can anyone point me to a card that will work?

Thanks in advance,

I've been looking for the same item with no luck, I've began to contact some manufacturing companies... when I head from them I'll let you know... or I you have found it, please let me know. Thanks! =)

I've had to go with an external HDD (Seagate Freeagent, highly recommended!). I've found a couple of PCI - SATA controller cards in the US http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2000150410&page=1&srchInDesc=vista%20sata&bop=And&Order=PRICE and there was one I came across before made by SIIG, http://www.siig.com/productlist.asp?pid=1043&catid=115 , note they're eSATA. Unfortunately they won't ship to the UK. I'll keep looking!
