Vista help please

By beachin2 ·
I just upgraded my laptop, and unfortunately it came with Windows Vista.

There have been a few problems I have been having, but a particular one is driving me nuts.

In Windows XP, when opening a file containing jpeg, tiff,or png files, I could see all the thumbnails of the pictures.

In Vista, when I open the files, they show as a thumbnail for about a nano second then even though I want thumbnails, it shows me a tile icon of a camera.

I have tried every setting I can think of to show the thumbnails. Nothing works.

At first I thought that maybe it was the size of the file that I was opening, but even having a small file, the same thing happens.

Also when I change the properties of the file from a read only and apply it, it reverts back to read only.

If anyone could help me with this, I would appreciate it.

I need to be able to see all the pictures as thumbnails for work.

Thank you.

There is a setting for your thumbnails

There is a setting for your thumbnails to show the actual picture in thumbnail itself. I got to it today, it's part of a list of about 12 check boxes, that I unchecked today, trying to improve the performance of this slug called Vista. When I got back to Explorer I could no longer see the thumbnails of the photos, just the sunset scene instead. It was in the system settings somewhere, but I don't remember how I got there.

In hindsight, this is a good example of writing down exactly what you're doing, while you're doing it.

I wish I could be more helpful, but I just got myself in the same situation as you.
