Vista home network printing problem

By mahonc ·
Hi Everyone

I am really hoping someone can help me with this. I have a desktop PC (hard-wired to the router) running Vista Home Premium and have a laptop (wirelessly connecting to the router) running vista home basic. I have a Canon PIXMA printer hooked to the PC via USB and shared. No matter what I do, I cannot seem to get the laptop to connect to the printer. I have had this issue with three different printers so far and have never been able to figure it out. With the first two printers, the laptop would connect to the printer and everything looked fine. When i would try printing a document, it would say that the job was successfully sent to the printer, yet the jobs never actually printed. It's as though something on my PC is blocking the laptop. I tried using a different laptop running windows XP and everything works just fine.

Can anyone shed some light on what might be the issue?
