I have mapping and name resolution problem. i have XP pro laptop at work and Vista Ultimate desktop at home i can connect through Remote desktop to my Vista machine from work and it works great. my Vista machine also configured as VPN server. i can connect to Vista but i can’t map any folder on vista neither i can ping by vista host name. i have 2wire SBC router which is not blocking any VPN or remote desktop traffic. port 1723 is open. i disabled Vista one care firewall and i disabled windows firewall as well but still i can’t map any folder on Vista nor i can ping by Vista host name it seems like name resolution problem but i did what ever i can to fix name resolution issue on client computer. on Vista it shows i am connected through VPN but still can’t map or ping host name.
I am really tired of trouble shooting this problem any immediate help will be highly appreciate.
