All I can tell you is the mail I get from them has
Microsoft Windows Mail 6.0.6001.18000
and he is running Vista and it splits large files into small pieces that my outlook or eudora can't put back together

That makes no sense....

Are you saying that:

(1) You have a friend who has a computer with MS Vista on it and the friend is using Windows Mail to send you large files.

(2) These large files come through to you in an email and you're using Outlook and/or Eudora.

(3) These large files arrive in little pieces all broken up, meaning in several files, not just one.

If so, I've never heard of such a thing.

Can you give us an example of a file type that is being treated this way? For example, are they sending you just one .DOC file or just one .JPG file? Or, what?

Do you get any errors when you try to open these files? If so, what is the error?

.

About the only thing that I can think of

by Jacky Howe In reply to That makes no sense....

is that they are zip or rar attachments. Other than that I'm lost because as far as I know I haven't heard of any e-mail program can split files..

Thanks again ThumbsUp2

Yes all is what I said before
files could be 1 large wmv or 5 or 6 jpg files they are all treated the same the whole email is split into smaller pieces not just the attachments .
I get small mail from him all the time
Thanks for your time kr7194

Sorry KR7194 I'm with ThumbsUp2, I'm not sure what you're trying to decribe?

Is your friend sending you 5 pictures and you're getting 5 e-mails? Or are you getting 5 attachments, ie: Pictures.001, Pictures.002 etc?

As what was mentioned before it could be a zipped file which has been spanned.

Have you asked the person sending you the e-mails what they are doing? Outlook/Gmail/Live Mail/Thunderbird etc don't split up e-mail attachments ... they'll send you what was sent.

What might be happening....

by ThumbsUp2 In reply to I'm lost aswell

... maybe the sender is using explorer, selecting a bunch of files, right clicking and telling it to send as email. If so, and if I'm not mistaken, doing it this way sends several emails, one for each file.

I could be wrong though... just guessing here, since we don't have enough to go on.
