Recently I experienced a very unusual problem with vista. I have a desktop and laptop both running vista and recently I noticed that my admin account will not accept the password on both systems. All standard user accounts work just fine. It doesnt say that the account is locked out and I did not set a lock out policy or password expeire policy either. But for some reason won’t accept my password. No one in the home knows my admin passwords so it could not have been changed by anyone else. So Am now wondering if some how my systems have been compromised or this happens with vista if you don’t change your password for a certain period.
They are not members of any domain but a general work group for home networking.
No password reset disk was made for any of the computers.
Also I have attempted to enable the default admin accounts but have not been successful.
Okay I know it’s a lot of detail but short of reformatting can anyone help and suggest other things I can do?
