Vista Readyboost any use with 3gigs of ram?

I finally made the change/forced to change to Windows Vista with the purchase of my new laptop(Toshiba Satellite P305D-S8828). It has 3gigs of ram my question is would I see any benefits using readyboost with installing a USB,SD,Solid State drive, etc? If it would what drive/size do you recommend?

I’m also thinking about upgrading the hard drive to a 7200rpm drive to speed up access time
