Vista Remote Desktop behind router problem

by paul . Updated 18 years, 11 months ago

I have a couple Vista PCs on my local home network behind a router. Port forwarding works fine. I can externally remote to internal XP PCs fine. Internally I can remote to the Vista PCs fine using their IP addresses. But I can not remote to the Vista PCs externally. I get the “The client could not connect to the remote computer” message. I have tried 3 different routers all the same (one flashed with DD_WRT). I triwed Radmin instead of windows remote desktop and the exact same symptoms.
