Vista Restore

by dirfrops . Updated 19 years, 3 months ago

I bought a new laptop and of course it came with Vista Home Premium. I was having trouble installing things with the User Account Control turned on so I disabled it and have been operating that way with minimal problems (Using Trend Micro 2007 Internet Security so Windows Defender and Windows Firewall are disabled). However I wanted to do so some driver updates and went to create a system restore point and all the restore points appeared to be missing. I created two of them during the same windows session and rebooted and then they disappeared again. So I turned on User Account Control back on and created a few more and they took, but upon rebooting, System Protection tells me that once again there are no restore points. I have plenty of space on my hard drive and am wondering what in the world is going on (other than Vista being buggy)…Any suggestions?
