Hi everyone,
I am having a serious problem with my laptop at the moment and cannot find any solution anywhere. My problem is that when i start to load my laptop i can only get as far the the login screen. The login screen appears as normal as it ever did with the password box clearly visable and the cursor flashes prompting me to type and login. The problem is i am unable to type my password. The screen even goes into a screensaver mode if i leave it idle for a few minutes and the only button on my laptop usable is the power switch. I have tried rebooting in safe mode but the problem remains. I have ran a startup repair but this picks up no problems and also the hardware diagnostics doesn’t detect any faults. My keypad works fine when i’m browsing through the boot menu from the start up selection.
I have a button on my laptop to turn on the wireless adapter and a few days ago this ceased to function. i had tried to run a system restore from a list of 5 recent checkpoints after this happen but i kept getting an error after the reboot saying:
System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer’s system files
and settings were not changed.
I had tried a restore on all the listed restore points but nothing worked.
I run an antivirus scan on my laptop every 2-3 days so i think it’s not a virus issue.
I also run a registry booster called uniblue every once in a while to clean up my registry and so i got the idea that one of my registry cleanups caused the problem with the system restore not working so i decided to restore the registry cleanups. Then i tried a system restore again and after the reboot it hung on the login screen and hasn’t allowed me to type my password or login since. The cursor is actually flashing as normal in the password field so the screen hasn’t actually frozen. This is not a black screen with a flashing cursor.
Can someone please help me?
