vlan port membership

By pitrodak ·
i have several vlans on our Cisco 4500. i have traditionally managed these via the gui, but am trying to learn the cli. how do i change a port's (or group of) membership from one vlan to another?

reading the posts it seems that i can use either vlan command or switchport command however i am do not understand the syntax or what the appropriate commands are - blade/port, vlan, add/include etc.

configure terminal
interface range (FastEthernet/Gigabit etc.) 0/1 - ?
switchport access vlan (whatever Vlan you are trying to set).

If you are trying to set entire blade 2 to Vlan 2:
configure terminal
interface range gigabitethernet 2/1 - 2/48
switchport mode access
switchport access vlan 2

You must also remove a port from a VLan before you can assign it to another.
