V*.NET Project Files

By mattohare ·
Ok, silly question here. Does the .NET development environment now store its project files in XML, instead of the old proprietary format?

Sort of in XML

by AliceO In reply to V*.NET Project Files

The new .NET introduces a huge number of new file types. The "solution" may contain multiple projects. The solution file is a text file with an extension of .sln. This is definitely not in XML (no tags). VB project files are still text files, only now with an extension of .vbproj. These do appear to be in XML, with tags of this sort:
<VisualStudioProject>
<VisualBasic>
<Include>
<Files>
and with specific structures within them. As with proper XML, there are end tags for every start tag.
