Vpc32 has caused an error in LDVPTASK.OC

laptop Win Me was just installed with the norton antivirus 2006 and the first scan was tried. It showed the message below
“Vpc32 has caused an error in LDVPTASK.OCX.”
“Vpc32 will now close.”

May someone tells me what is this???

Hi

The file is definitely part of the Norton Antivirus program.

I know that this may not be what you want to hear, but perhaps the best solution would be to reinstall NAV 2006. After uninstalling, make sure your system is working properly, then reinstall and see if the problem persists.

Norton’s 2006 isn’t ME compatible you can not use it with Windows ME the minimum system requirements for Norton’s 2006 are here

You’ll see that it specifically states Y2k, XP and 2003 [/b]ONLY![/b]

You’ll need to remove it from the Add Remove Programs in the control panel and install a Virus Scanner that works with ME. For this I would suggest AVG which is free and available at
