I have a W2K server at home and I am trying to VPN to my office to a NT 4.0 Server. I am using cable modem and i have setup PPTP. When I try to dial up to the office, i get a message that says, "remote machine is not responding". Does anyone knowwhat that means?

Have you been setup as a RAS user? Are other people successful getting in? If not, try just to RAS into 4.0 to help in debugging.

It sound like more of an issue on the office end, You need to be able to ping the server first. The remote machine not responing error most like has to do with connectivity. In any case make sure the server is setup for Remote access and you have the correct public ip. Once you have connectivity and its still not working it will give you a different error message.
