VPN At Windows 2000

By teo ·
We have a windows 2000 server connected to the internet on a lesased line. We want to set up a VPN server to allow remote user to connect to the VPN server. The user is connected to the isp on an adsl modem (leased line connection)

How can the user connect to the VPN server ?

Does he need to dial up the isp and make a second dial up using the server ip address ?

Thank you

You fail to indicate what client the user is using. If Windows 2000 professional, it is very easy to create a VPN connection using Add new connection wizard. I am still working out how my windows 95/98 users can connect.

If he has ADSL he doesn't need to Dial up again but he does need to use THE VPN ADAPTER (On Windows 98 Client) to "Dial" into the IP of the 2000 Server
(This doesn't throw him off the internet or break his active connection).

I couldn't give you the step-by-step on VPN in a 1000 carcters. However, you're welcome to my Web Site, where you'll find everything you need to make the VPN work.
Good Luck!
