What is the best way to create a VPN backbone? Hows does MPLS affects connectivity? Do you need a specified amount of bandwidth to support voice and video?

Glad to help you with your homework.

What type of VPN? Site-to-site, user VPN?

Is your VPN terminated in a firewall, or are you planning to use a dedicated VPN device or server?

What differentiates MPLS from ATM and frame relay? Do you mean to deploy a MPLS VPN?

You can run voice and video over any pretty much any bandwidth. To get good voice quality and minimal video delay, you not only need sufficient bandwidth, but latency must be within some normal limits.
