I’m having an issue with connecting up an XP Pro client to a Win2k3 server. The same config on the same laptop works on some networks, but not on this Covad T-1.
I’m able to handshake with the server, get an IP address and perform some file operations, but the connection ALWAYS terminates between 90 and 180 seconds. During the time that it’s connected, however, I have successfully copied files to and from the VPN Network.
The PPP.Log file seems to hum along fine until it gets one of these:
PPPEMSG_LineDown recvd, hPort=3
Which signals the connection to terminate. I can reconnect immediately and it usually works.
Does anyone have any idea what’s causing this termination to occur? Again, this very same machine operates with this VPN flawlessly on other (slower) networks.
