At a client of mine we are using a VPN solution based on Windows NT 4.0 and a Cisco PIX 506 Firewall. All the users who dial in are using Windows 2K VPN clients. They are dialing in over a phone line or a (2048)DSL line. On the server side we have a 2048 ADSL connection (512 downstream) We have the following problems.
– We log into the firewall, this works fine. We can startup the mail as if we where on the network, this also works fine. When I go to a drive mapping it takes 30 to 120 seconds for a folder to open. This happens with every folder we try to open. So if we need a file which is 3 to 4 layers deep, it takes ages. We think it is due to a authentication problem. Because when we download files it goes at a normal speed.
Can anyone help us solve this.
