VPN problem

By siriussoftware ·
Hi,

we have recently moved our server to Windows 2008 R2 and our clients machines to Windows 7 professional.

We use VPNs to connect to some our external customers. The VPNs are standard Microsoft PPTP. They connect properly and we can do whatever we need on the remote machine.

The problem is that when we connect to the outside, our internal machine that we made the connection from is no longer part of our internal intranet. We cant access it all. It shows on the network section of windows explorer but is not available when trying to click on it. When the VPN connection is closed, the machine is reinstated into the intranet as if nothing had happened.

what can I do to make the machine stay in the local network?

TIA
Col Douglass
