I have looked all over this forum and there are many said solutions to my problem, however I’m still unable to get my printing resolved. Unfortunately this is resulting in me starting a new thread!
I have a user with an HP All-in-One printer (5510) installed on his XP PC at home. He is opening a VPN connection to my network to connect to his desktop machine in the office, also XP. What he wants to be able to do is to print from his work PC in the office back to his printer at his house.
I have ensured the print resource is ticked in RDP; I have ‘attempted’ to install the 5510 onto his work PC so that the driver is present; I have looked at the local port drop-down in Add Printer Wizard to see if his printer is there – it isn’t.
As you can tell I am struggling.
As an aside I have successfully myself RDP’d to a terminal server on the local network from my work PC (XP) and my printer’s go across however when I try to RDP over a VPN to another site’s terminal server (2003) my printers do not follow.
Are my remote user and I doing something simply wrong that can be fixed?
Thanks for any help you can give,
Alex
