I am looking for opinions on the following scenario:
My friend works for a company that has an HP-UX Server with Terminal Server hardware, Muxes and the whole nine yards.
Currently, they have several locations that are connecting to their mainoffice to access an application running on this server. This is all “text” based. Many of these remote locations only have a “Dumb Terminal” and modem.
They want to replace these leased/lines and/or dial-ups with some type of VPN. They also want to avoid replacing the “dumb terminals” (if at all possible)…most of the dumb terminals are in Warehouses and they are concerned with putting an ACTUAL PC there, but I may be able to convince them that is the best solution, if that is what turns out. How would you go about providing this solution?
As a second phase, they would like to give their customers access to their application via the internet. If you have any thoughts on this, I would also like to hear them.
Thanks!
Shayne
